Welcome to France ! After having spent a few days in Paris, or freshly arrived from your previous destination, you will depart on a magical tour of South-Western France. Enjoy these 5 days to grasp the importance of traditions, culture and gastronomy in our beautiful country.

ITINERARY

Day 1 :  PARIS - COGNAC

This morning, you will be privately transferred to Gare Montparnasse, where your train towards Angoulême will depart.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your private chauffeur, who will accompany you during this getaway. Head to Cognac (30 minute drive), where great discoveries await you. After checking-in at your 5* hotel in the center of the city, you will experience a private visit and tasting in the Château de Cognac. You will go behind the scenes of the production of this spirit, and have the opportunity to taste Pineau des Charentes ! A great way to start your adventures in South-Western France. The rest of your day will be at leisure, and we will provide you with our best addresses for drinks and dinner in Cognac.

Day 2  : COGNAC - SAINT EMILION

Following breakfast, you will continue your journey (1h45 drive) through the vines and depart to Saint Emilion, an emblematic town of the French Bordeaux Vineyards.

2000 years of history between men and vines are waiting for you, a remarkable example of a historical vineyard that has got through the ages but yet is still the same. It is the first vineyard listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. You will start your day by a private visit with a commented tasting in a Grand Cru Classé wine estate. Taste their fine wine and admire the beautiful architecture of the estate ! For lunch, a 3-course meal at a wine estate will await you, for you to get a feel of French gastronomy.

You will then have some free time to explore the UNESCO village of Saint-Emilion, before a second tasting experience in a wine shop of the village. After a day full of different tastes and smells, head to your charming B&B in the vineyards, where you will spend the night. We will of course provide you with our best addresses for drinks and dinner in the area.

Lunch (3 course-meal) at a Wine Estate, dinner at leisure and night at Château de Palanquey & Spa in a Double Room with Private Jacuzzi.

After breakfast, check-out from your beautiful B&B and head to the Cap Ferret (1h20 drive).

Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, the Cap Ferret presents you its fine beaches, immense pine forests, small oyster-farming villages and exceptional natural sites. You will meet a local guide to learn about oyster farming and visit a farm, before enjoying a traditional lunch of seafood with wine pairing. Continue your afternoon by exploring the villages freely, before driving off to the the Basque Country, in Anglet (2h20 drive).

Day 4 : BASQUE COUNTRY

Sweetness of life, relaxation, Basque Traditions and local gastronomy are on the program today. Discover the Basque coast, known for its charm and relaxed rhythm of life. Architecture lovers will appreciate the contrast between traditional houses and the Art Deco style of Biarritz. After breakfast, you will head to Bayonne's city center for a private food tour to discover local deliciacies: ham, chocolate, seafood... Be ready to live a foodie experience ! In the afternoon, head to Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz or even Guéthary to discover the coastal towns at your own pace. We will provide you with our most confidential addresses for you to spend a memorable day. In the evening, we invite you to discover French gastronomy at a more refined level with a Michelin-star dinner including a wine pairing. What a tasty way to end your day !

Day 5 : BASQUE COUNTRY

After a final breakfast and check-out from your hotel, you will enjoy the day to explore the green setting at the foot of the Pyrénées Mountains which houses some of the most beautiful French villages : Saint-Jean Pied de Port, Itxassou, Ainhoa.. Discover freely the typical villages of the interior Basque Country: their local architecture, culture and well-preserved heritage. Not to mention the Ossau Iraty cheese, Banka trout, Espelette pepper or Basque cake... The Aldudes Valley is full of culinary treasures for foodies, a great place for conviviality and authenticity !

After a final morning of visits, your private chauffeur will take you back to Biarritz to board your plane to Paris, after a final goodbye to this beautiful region.
