Today marks the beginning of your beautiful African expedition. Take your flight to Arusha Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and assisted at the airport before heading by private vehicle to your lodge. Overnight at Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge 4* in a Plantation Suite.
After your first night in Tanzania, you will head towards Tarangire National Park (where you will spend the next 2 nights). It is lesser-known, less crowded, but more authentic than the more famous national parks. Picnic lunch en route, then check in at your new lodge. Located in an acacia forest by wetlands and the Gurusi savannah, it offers a sublime setting. The lodge features 12 luxurious private tents with bathrooms (indoor and outdoor showers) made from local materials. Each tent includes a lounge area, terrace, and large windows offering panoramic views of the bush. The elevated terraces face a waterhole that attracts local wildlife. In the afternoon, enjoy your first safari in Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Swala 5* in a Safari King Tent.
A full day dedicated to safari in Tarangire National Park. You will discover an exceptional flora made up of nine types of vegetation, from the spectacular baobab to the umbrella acacia. The park is home to species sometimes rare in other parks (oryx, kudu, etc.), as well as buffalo, zebras, impalas, giraffes, and especially elephants, which are abundant here. Picnic lunch during the safari or at the lodge, as preferred. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
This morning, head to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, a true birdwatcher's paradise. The park is named after the lake that occupies two-thirds of its area. The region is known for its "tree-climbing lions," large numbers of pelicans and flamingos that gather in the lake, and a huge variety of birds (more than 350 species). The road winds along a narrow strip of land between the lake and cliffs, passing through lush jungle where baboons, gazelles, and elephants are commonly spotted. A first safari en route, followed by a picnic lunch. The plains ahead are bordered by the lake, where many animals come to bathe and drink. Giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and large buffalo herds gather on the grassy land. If you're lucky, you may spot the legendary tree-climbing lions of Manyara. Check in at your lodge: nestled in a large mahogany forest, just 1 km from the lake, and Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only luxury lodge in the park. The romantic treehouse-style suites are completely open to the surrounding vegetation. Dinner and overnight at and Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge 5* in a Suite.
This morning, travel to the Rift Valley and the village of Mto Wa Mbu for a stop to explore local rural life. The lunch will include an enriching cultural interaction. Continue to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most extraordinary natural wonders. A visit to the Ngorongoro Crater is a rare emotional experience, enhanced by the opportunity to encounter nearly all of Africa's iconic wildlife. Along the way, stop at the “elephant cave” (named for the deep holes dug by elephants to ingest mineral-rich soil) and the majestic waterfall next to it. Buffaloes, baboons, and antelopes often take refuge here. Check in at the renowned Crater Lodge, known for its extraordinary design and decor, blending African, Oriental, and Western baroque styles. Overlooking the impressive Ngorongoro Crater, it's a unique and timeless place. Dinner and overnight at and Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge 5* in a Suite.
Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable day of safari, with a picnic lunch amidst the birds and hippos. The Ngorongoro Crater is a unique caldera about 20 km in diameter, hosting a variety of habitats, including forest, grasslands, streams, and salt lakes. It is home to the world's largest concentration of wildlife, and you may encounter the Big Five (rhinos, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, and elephants), as well as zebras, hippopotamuses, wildebeests, hyenas, and more. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
This morning, head towards Serengeti National Park, the first national park created in Tanzania and an animal sanctuary. It is one of the most remarkable parks, along with Kenya's Maasai Mara. A first safari will be conducted along the way. Check in at your lodge: Serengeti Pioneer Camp is ideally located in South Central Serengeti, perfect for observing the Great Migration of the southern plains (adjustable based on your travel dates). The camp blends seamlessly into the surroundings, with luxury tents offering stunning views of the savannah. Dinner and overnight at Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp 4* in a Safari Tent.
