VENICE - RIVIEIRA DEL BRENTA - VICENZA REGION

Day 1: HOME - VENICE - RIVIERA DEL BRENTA

Morning departure to Venice. Arrive in Venice around midday and pick up your rental car at the airport. Then, head to the “Riviera del Brenta,” a region between Venice and Padua famous for its beautiful river area and many splendid Venetian villas built from the 1600s by wealthy Venetian nobles. Check-in at your hotel: overlooking the Brenta River in Mira (home to the largest concentration of villas), the Romantik Hotel Villa Margherita is about 30 minutes from Venice. Set in a former noble residence, this large villa is surrounded by a vast private park. Free meals and overnight stay at Romantik Hotel Villa Margherita 4*.

Day 2: RIVIERA DEL BRENTA REGION

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Suggested visit: Spend the day exploring the "Riviera del Brenta" region. Among the most beautiful Venetian villas in the area, we recommend visiting the spectacular Villa Widmann and its charming park, a true gem of the Brenta Canal; Villa Valmarana; the elegant Villa Foscari, also known as "la Malcontente" and UNESCO-listed, a masterpiece by Palladio; the beautiful and vast Villa Pisani with frescoed rooms by Tiepolo and Guarana; and the solitary and stunning Villa Giovanelli. Free meals and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: RIVIERA DEL BRENTA REGION

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Suggested visit: Continue exploring the Venetian villas of the region or visit the city of Padua, a key stop in any Veneto itinerary. Its architectural heritage, particularly in the historic center, is remarkable. Padua is known for its charming medieval heart, with small squares and palaces. Don’t miss the Scrovegni Chapel, adorned with Giotto’s most beautiful frescoes, and the Basilica of Saint Anthony, where the city's patron saint is buried. Free meals and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: RIVIERA DEL BRENTA - VICENZA REGION

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Suggested visit: Continue exploring the Venetian villas of the region, or visit the villages of Asolo and Bassano. The charming fortified village of Asolo is an artists' haven, frozen in time, offering the charm of Veneto’s villages and northern Italy. Bassano del Grappa, a village enclosed by walls built by the former Venetian republic, is home to a wooden bridge spanning the Brenta River, adding to the charm of this characterful town, overlooked by Mount Grappa. Afterward, head to Carrè, in the Vicenza region. Check-in at your hotel: Located amidst the Pre-Alps of the Asiago plateau, this 18th-century stone guesthouse (4*) is part of a magnificent villa. Free meals and overnight stay at Locanda Corte dei Galli in a standard room.

Day 5: VICENZA REGION

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Suggested visit: Spend the day exploring Vicenza and its region, one of the most beautiful cities in Veneto. Vicenza’s artistic history is deeply connected to the genius of Andrea di Pietro della Gondola, better known as Palladio, a renowned architect in Italy and worldwide. Two key factors led to Vicenza being listed by UNESCO: the decisive contribution of Palladio’s works to history and art, and the perfect harmony between architecture and urban planning in the city, a model for modern and contemporary Europe. Free meals and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: VICENZA REGION

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Suggested visit: Continue exploring the many villas in Vicenza and its region, including Villa Valmarana Ai Nani, which, although not designed by Palladio, contains stunning interior frescoes. About 10 kilometers south of Vicenza, in Costozza di Longare, you will find Villa Da Schio: built in a beautiful natural setting on the site of large quarries where Palladio sourced limestone for his villas, this estate consists of three villas: Ca’ Molina, the owner’s house, and Grotta del Marinali. Villa Da Schio is famous for its garden, filled with statues, staircases, and caves. Free meals and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: VICENZA REGION

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Suggested visit: Today, consider visiting Verona and the Valpolicella Valley. Verona, the “city of love,” is universally known thanks to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and the annual opera festival held in its magnificent Roman amphitheater. Verona is also a beautiful city, with Lombard-style churches and marble palaces that embody the delicate harmony of the Italian Renaissance, blending Lombardy and Veneto influences. A little further north, you’ll find the famous vineyards of the Valpolicella region. Free meals and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: VICENZA REGION - VENICE - HOME

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with your rental car. Optional visit on your way back to Venice: Treviso, with its canals crossed by small bridges, arcaded streets, and Renaissance palaces, is a miniature version of Venice (minus the lagoon, but with added fortifications). Its compact historic center is perfect for a leisurely walk. Nearby, visit the magnificent Villa Sandi, in Palladian style, which is now the headquarters of the Villa Sandi winery. In the evening, return to Venice’s airport. Return your rental car and take an evening flight to Paris. Arrival at home in the evening, ending this wonderful Venetian escape.
