Departure from your home to Rovaniemi (flight with Finnair, with a short stopover in Helsinki). Arrive in the afternoon in the capital of Finnish Lapland. Snow-covered forests, thousands of pine trees, frozen lakes, vast expanses, not to mention 190,000 reindeer and Santa Claus: Finnish Lapland looks like a dream come true!
Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred by private vehicle to your high-end retreat, located in the heart of nature yet just minutes from downtown. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore the stunning surrounding nature.
Enjoy a dinner of Lappish specialties at the Nili restaurant (transfers included).
Overnight at the Arctic Tree House Hotel 5* in an Arctic Tree House Suite.
Perched on stilts and harmoniously integrated into the landscape, the Arctic Tree House cabins are an invitation to live a waking dream. Imagine yourself in a cabin nestled among the trees, gazing at the Great North in all its shades. The owners have designed the experience to be fully immersive, with each cabin featuring a large panoramic window to enjoy the breathtaking view of the snowy forests right from your bed. These cabins also seem to be made for observing the Northern Lights. The philosophy is simple: immerse you in the atmosphere of Lapland in an intimate and exclusive setting, respecting Lappish tradition and Scandinavian design.
This morning, you'll be provided with special "extreme cold" gear, which you can keep for the rest of your stay in Lapland. Today, you will experience a highlight of your journey: meeting the famous sled dogs, the huskies. After an introduction to the pack, embark on a beautiful and long ride, surrounded by the joyful barking and the majestic silence of the snowy plains. The pristine nature all around guarantees an unforgettable Lappish adventure in the heart of a breathtaking landscape.
You will then have the afternoon free. We suggest visiting the Arktikum Museum and Science Center, where you can learn about the traditions, history, and unique artifacts of the region. There are permanent and temporary exhibits on the northern environment, with a focus on the rights and languages of indigenous peoples. The highlight is the outdoor village, where you can admire the Northern Lights from inside a semi-underground glass gallery 172 meters long.
In the evening, we offer a unique excursion (subject to good weather conditions): stargazing and witnessing the extraordinary Northern Lights in the wild nature of Lapland. Surrounded by the warmth of a fire, you will have plenty of time to scan the sky for the lights. These lights are especially visible here, far from any artificial light sources. Your guide will provide tips on how to capture them on camera.
Snacks and hot drinks will be served around the campfire.
Overnight at the hotel.
This morning, embark on an exciting snowmobile safari. A safety briefing and driving instructions will be provided before heading out into the wilderness. On snowy trails, you will cross vast wild expanses and breathtaking landscapes. Thrill-seekers will be in for an unforgettable ride! Winter in Lapland is truly magical. The trees are often weighed down with snow, and the sunlight casts a unique glow on the landscape.
Still on your snowmobiles, head to a frozen lake where you will try your hand at ice fishing. In this peaceful setting, it's time to break the ice and fish through a hole! Meanwhile, your guide will prepare lunch around a campfire with hot drinks.
Return to the city after your expedition, with the rest of the afternoon free. Feel free to explore on your own on the marked trails, whether on foot, with snowshoes, or even on a bike (snow-tires available for rental on-site).
Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.
Today, head to Sinettä, on the shores of Lake Lehtojärvi, 30 minutes from downtown Rovaniemi. Here you will stay for one last unique night in Lapland at the Arctic Snow Hotel & Glass Igloos. The hotel features elegant wooden and glass igloos, fully insulated and heated, offering a peaceful retreat. The igloos offer an unobstructed view of the northern night sky and, with a little luck (subject to good weather conditions), you may even witness the Northern Lights from your bed. The glass roof will give you the illusion of sleeping under the stars, making it a truly magical night, no matter what!
During your stay here, you can simply enjoy the exceptional surroundings or take part in activities offered by the hotel, including a sauna by Lake Lehtojärvi, snow sculptures, snowshoe walks, or even ice fishing with a local guide.
In the late afternoon, we’ve arranged a private sauna session for you. You’ll have exclusive access to the traditional Finnish sauna, the "snow sauna" (a specialty of the house), and the outdoor hot tub. The sauna ritual is a true institution in Finland (it’s even listed as an UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage), and it’s a vital part of Finnish life. The country has around 3 million saunas for just over 5 million inhabitants!
Dinner at the ice restaurant: a truly unique experience!
